TRACKED: The Modern Contradiction
Sandbox is back, living up to its name, as a jewelry brand rooted in conceptual thought processes.
Having finally honed in on an identifiable object that represents the brand, Sandbox introduces to us the ‘Silver Spherical Sand Speck’, which is an object that will become a brand staple.
As seen in the images, the theme of this collection touches on the idea of the Meta human meets cyborg age that awaits us. The models are tattooed with barcodes, which affirm and yet contradict their humanity.
Modeled by Mariam Mancy & Zeina Abdeldayem. Make Up by Essmat El Kholy. Art Direction, Photography and Retouching by Suhayla Al Sheikh (Sandbox founder/designer).
The silver spherical sand specks represent the idea of fluidity in motion, or essentially freedom of thoughts and actions. The shape of a sphere is limitless, embodying the concept of constant exploration, endless experimentation, light motion, and adaptation.
The collection editorial is overshadowed by a red film, as a representation of our decreasing privacy as a generation under the radar or under the microscope.
